ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Idea
Last year, I was approached by a Honolulu-based marketing company, STRATEGIES360, who wanted to capture the announcement of the new County of Maui, Director of Department of Ag. The creation of this new department is leading the way for Maui to be more diverse in their economy, more sustainable, addressing many issues like employment, food security and the quality of life.
A one person crew will cover the speeches, interviews and b-roll along with some additional filming at other locations. The footage will be used for the County’s website, social media and re-purposed for additional uses. Harrington Productions will handle the editing.
The Goal
The goal was to cover the announcement of the new Director the Department of Ag, and Deputy Director. Also we conducted interviews capturing the storyline and b-roll at a few other locations.
The Process
This shoot involved 1 day of filming with 1 person crew & equipment. We provide editing of up to 2 short segments and 2 rounds of revisions, licensed music, graphics, sound, & stock footage. A low-res version of the raw footage will be uploaded to the Strategies 360 producers with time-code burn-in to write scripts to be edited into short segments.
The Results
Both pieces came together within 2 weeks and were well-received. The client provided the music for one (a Hawaiian chant) and we I provided another licensed track of music.
Here are some testimonials from clients:
Aloha Kevin,
“I just wanted to let you know I received the video edit today. Thanks so much! It looks great! I have a couple of tiny edits, and I will aim to get them to you by tomorrow.”

Honey
Aloha Kevin!
“Thanks for checking in. The client really liked both videos. I will have to check with them for analytics. Since the videos for were the new Ag Department, they are using them to raise awareness and create familiarity.
I will definitely reach out if we have other projects to work on.”
Mahalo,
Honey Malton-Wesott
