What Camera Format Do You Need to Shoot in? It is Available.
I own and maintain a couple of different camera packages including the NEW Panasonic AG-HPX500 2/3" CCD HD camcorder that records on P2 solid-state cards.
The camera shines in a wide variety of applications previously only possible on the highest-end Varicam. The HPX500 can shoot a variety of standard definition and high definition resolutions, incl. 1080i/60i, 1080i/24P, 720P/30P etc.
What is cool about the HPX-500 is that I can shoot in any resolution. So if you want betacam, digi-beta, or DV-cam, I can shoot it and dub to tape in my edit studio (except for Digi-beta). HD footage can be easily downloaded to a external hard drive and taken with you or you can edit your project at our studio.

I edit on the New Avid Media Composer software that includes high-end features HD editing, like real-time effects, color correction and multiple video tracks. And in addition, the whole system can be set-up on-location for corporate highlight videos and other fast-turnaround projects.
